Chris blogs on various topics, including politics, literature, religion, usually from a philosophical angle, is writing a book on Jane Austen (and has a blog devoted to Mansfield Park), is a trustee of the Bodhi Garden, and a (very poor) student of Sogyal Rinpoche, Tibetan Buddhist master and author of the Tibetan Book of Living and Dying. In a previous incarnation he trained as a computer scientist (Ph.D. from Bristol), taught computer science at University College Cork, worked at ARM Ltd on microprocessor architecture and managed the hostel at Dzogchen Beara Retreat Centre.
